7 travel essentials to help improve your holiday experience
Travelling is one of the great joys in life. It helps you broaden your horizons, meet new people and experience different cultures and cuisine. It can also be stressful, especially on longer trips, and then there’s the packing – that’s no joke! So here at Pyramid HQ we decided to put together a list of 7 essentials to help you make the most of that well earned time away.
We start off with one of our favourite products at the moment, the Monzo Card. Monzo is tearing up the banking game right now with their simple, customer-focused ethos. We’re all about that here at Casa de Pyramid.
Using your Monzo Card when travelling abroad is so simple and stress-free. It lets you pay in shops, restaurants and online, anywhere in the world. Monzo passes Mastercard’s exchange rate directly to you and doesn’t add fees or additional charges. You can also withdraw up to £200 every 30 days for free. If you use up your allowance, there’s a 3% charge on withdrawals after that. The good guys at Monzo will also let you know the current exchange rate, give you tips on travelling with your Monzo card in whatever country you’re in at that moment and lets you automatically categorise transactions as holidays expenses while you travel abroad, letting you see exactly how much you spent on your travels.
Trtl Neck Pillow
Next up is the incredible travel pillow from Trtl. Travelling can be tiring, sometimes it’s a real struggle to find a comfortable position to get some much-needed shut-eye – you end up flapping around like beached whale, annoying your fellow passengers. Well, all that struggle and strife is a thing of the past. The guys at Trtl have come up with a comfortable, lightweight travel pillow that doubles up as a neck rest. The ingenious design helps you recharge your batteries while you travel and lets you arrive at your destination fully refreshed and ready for your holiday adventures.
Time for some shameless self-promotion. Everyone needs a best friend, and the internet’s best friend is the Pyramid WiFi box. If the internet had its own Facebook account it would have one friend, and that friend would be Pyramid WiFi. A small and light Smart VPN router, Pyramid WiFi protects your privacy and removes online restrictions when you travel.
Do you hate missing your favourite Premier League games and favourite shows when you travel?! Well fret no more my jet setting friend – our simple, easy-to-use device lets you change your location and unlock sport and content from the UK, keeping you up to date on what’s going down in Albert Square, the latest murder in Hollyoaks and letting you watch all the sporting action while you chill by the pool and post Instagram snaps of your oiled-up legs.
The box also takes away the risk of using public networks. Pyramid WiFi works like an invisibility cloak for your personal information, stopping internet providers and any other nosy network sniffers from recording your browsing history – no needs to know where you buy your socks.
Phox Water bottle
It’s import to stay hydrated when you travel, so keep yourself refreshed with the Phox Go water bottle. Our good friends Phox are on a mission to provide a solution to the planet’s ever-increasing single-use plastic problem. Phox provide reusable filters to turn tap water into electrolyte-rich alkaline water and their bottles help carry it everywhere in a sustainable and stylish manner. The Phox bottle controls the temperature and keeps water ice cold for 24 hours. You can help the planet and its mission while looking and staying cool. It’s a no brainer travel solution.
Next up is Tens sunglasses. Fed up of sunglasses dulling your holiday experience down?! It’s okay, Tens have got your back! Tens have created beautiful, stylish frames with a custom lens tint with rich, warm tones that help brighten up your day and see your holiday in a different light while looking exceedingly cool.
I got 99 problems, but a book ain’t one… uh… Travelling and going on that well-earned holiday always gives you a chance to get stuck into that reading list you’re always meaning to start. But with packing space at a premium its time to get with the kids and leave those dusty books behind and get a Kindle eBook reader. The Paperwhite comes with at least 8GB internal storage so can hold thousands of books, providing ample room for your Harry Potter and 50 Shades collections or your favourite self-help audiobook when you’re going through a post cocktail existential crisis. The ebook is also waterproof so if 50 Shades gets you all hot and bothered you can jump in for a cold shower and read it there.
Anker PowerCore Portable Charger (power bank)
Your average holidaymaker has more gadgets than Batman these days. Those gadgets make all the train, plane, taxi and bus journeys bearable while travelling to your destinations. The thing is, they all need power, lots of it. That’s where a power bank comes in very handy. A power bank lets you charge your phone and tablets on the go, helping to keep your gadgets help keep you going. One of our favourites is the Anker PowerCore. Our favourite model, the 26800, lets you charge 3 devices at the same time and will be able to charge your phone or tablet multiple times before it needs a recharge.
