7 travel essentials to help improve your holiday experience

Upgrade Your Travel

Travel is one of the great joys in life. It helps you broaden your horizons, meet new people and experience different cultures and cuisine. It can also be stressful, especially on longer trips, and then there’s the packing – that’s no joke! So here at Pyramid HQ, we decided to put together a list of 7 essentials to help you make the most of that well earned time away.

Travel - Monzo

Monzo Card

We start off with one of our favourite products at the moment, the Monzo Card. Monzo is tearing up the banking game right now with their simple, customer-focused ethos. We’re all about that here at Casa de Pyramid. Using your Monzo Card when travelling abroad is so simple and stress-free. It lets you pay in shops, restaurants and online, anywhere in the world. Monzo passes Mastercard’s exchange rate directly to you and doesn’t add fees or additional charges. You can also withdraw up to £200 every 30 days for free. If you use up your allowance, there’s a 3% charge on withdrawals after that. The good guys at Monzo will also let you know the current exchange rate, give you tips on travelling with your Monzo card in whatever country you’re in at that moment and lets you automatically categorise transactions as holidays expenses while you travel abroad, letting you see exactly how much you spent on your travels.

Travel - Trtl

Trtl Neck Pillow

Next up is the incredible travel pillow from Trtl. Travelling can be tiring, sometimes it’s a real struggle to find a comfortable position to get some much-needed shut-eye – you end up flapping around like beached whale, annoying your fellow passengers. Well, all that struggle and strife is a thing of the past. The guys at Trtl have come up with a comfortable, lightweight travel pillow that doubles up as a neck rest. The ingenious design helps you recharge your batteries while you travel and lets you arrive at your destination fully refreshed and ready for your holiday adventures.

Travel - Kindle

Kindle Paperwhite

I got 99 problems, but a book ain’t one… uh… Travelling and going on that well-earned holiday always gives you a chance to get stuck into that reading list you’re always meaning to start. But with packing space at a premium its time to get with the kids and leave those dusty books behind and get a Kindle eBook reader. The Paperwhite comes with at least 8GB internal storage so can hold thousands of books, providing ample room for your Harry Potter and 50 Shades collections or your favourite self-help audiobook when you’re going through a post cocktail existential crisis. The ebook is also waterproof so if 50 Shades gets you all hot and bothered you can jump in for a cold shower and read it there.

Travel - Pyramid WiFi

 Pyramid WiFi

Unfortunately, not all reading in the sun is quite so pleasurable – particularly when Janet, the office gossip, takes to Facebook to spill the beans on who croaked it in your favourite Netflix series before you’ve had the chance to catch up.

Until now, an attempt to watch your favourite TV or sports abroad has often been met with the dreaded “content cannot be played” error, an experience which burns as much as a ginger sporting factor 15.

Enter Pyramid WiFi, a matchbox-sized WiFi box that works like a passport for your favourite apps and streaming services. With Pyramid, you can select a country (from over 50 virtual locations) and instantly unlock your favourite shows from the comfort of your phone, tablet or any other gadget.

As well as some poolside entertainment, Pyramid is also very savvy at keeping your personal details safe, working like an invisibility cloak to keep your personal information hidden from fraudsters on insecure Public WiFi such as airports and hotels.

So, whether you are looking to protect your bank card or binge-watch on the beach, Pyramid is definitely a travel-essential worthy of a spot on your holiday wishlist!
